Montana, 1948 by Larry Watson

“Middle-aged David Hayden recalls his 12th summer when the charges of a young Sioux woman force David's father to confront his older brother, a charming war hero and respected doctor.”
This book should appeal equally to men and women and is available on Amazon or can be downloaded onto your Kindle through the Groton Public Library.
