HAPPY ROCKS

William Knuff | Published on 4/24/2020
The last many weeks have been a source of stress, uncertainty, and isolation for all of us.  Medical personnel and first responders are on the front lines battling to protect and save lives against an enemy as challenging as any we have ever faced.  Universities and the drug industry work tirelessly to find a vaccine that will mark the beginning of a return to some sense of normalcy.

However small, behind every front door you and your neighbors look for ways to help...to relieve the stress...to remind us who we are...to connect with one another in small tangible ways.  Some offer to run errands or grocery shop.  Others sew masks or make wellness calls to check on a friend.  These are examples of coming together...of community.

One of our neighbors in Groton is spreading rays of sunshine during this time of clouds.  If you have been out for a breath of fresh air to walk around Town Center or Lawrence Woods, you may have come across a "Happy Rock" carefully placed to catch our eye and bring a smile to our face.  Anonymous though it is, this not so random act of kindness is a thoughtful and wonderful gift to all who call Groton home.  These "Happy Rocks" are a clear sign of hope for us all.

Whoever you are...we thank you!
